Chelsea Players Squad Numbers Announced For New Players – Chelsea Football Club has announce the squad numbers for their new players following the closure of the summer transfer window yesterday.

The transfer deadline day was yesterday and Chelsea was one of the busiest clubs. The coach Antonio Conte has repeatedly stated his desire to strengthen his squad in a transfer window the Italian tactician called crazy.

After failing to sign their top targets, all through the summer, Chelsea pulled off some of the biggest deadline day transfer deals.The club sign Spanish left back Marcos Alonso from Seria A outfit Fiorentina.

The biggest story of the deadline day was however not to be until about five minutes from the close of the window. The club in a dramatic move brought back former Stamford bridge fans favourite, David Luiz from PSG.

Having completed their moves to Stamford Bridge, the Chelsea players squad numbers was released today. The club also released the full squad for the current premier league season.

New left back Marcos Alonso will wear the number the No.3 shirt while David Luiz has taken the No.30. David Luiz’s previous squad number at Chelsea, the 4, was given to Cesc Fabregas when the midfielder signed.

The Premier League regulations for the squad list

The premier league has a very tightly regulated squad list regulation. The regulations is as summarized below:

A squad can be up to a maximum of 25 players of whom a maximum of 17 may not be home-grown players. A reduced squad can be submitted if a club does not have eight falling into the home-grown category.

In addition to the 25-man named squad, premier league clubs can use an unlimited number of players aged 21 or under.

An Under-21 player means a player under the age of 21 as at the 1st January in the year in which the season concerned commences. Under-21 players can be added to the squad during the season.

What is a home grown player?

A home-grown player is one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three Seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).
